Important Information for users of the Dallas, Houston, London, Tampa and Toronto servers (dallas.voip.ms, houston.voip.ms, london.voip.ms, tampa.voip.ms, toronto.voip.ms, toronto2.voip.ms, toronto3.voip.ms and toronto4.voip.ms) These changes are done in order to improve the quality of service and also to be able to scale up our equipment transparently in the future. There will be a change of IP Address on the Dallas, Houston, London, Tampa and Toronto servers. We are also adding additional servers in selected cities. See below for more information. ===================== What are the changes? ===================== Dallas: The IP address for the host dallas.voip.ms will be replaced November 9 after 1:00 AM EST (06:00 GMT) with the following IP address: Dallas NEW IP Address: 158.85.149.162 (Old address: Dallas 74.54.54.178) A brand new server will also be added with the following hostname: New Dallas server: dallas2.voip.ms Houston: The IP address for the host houston.voip.ms will be replaced November 16 after 1:00 AM EST (06:00 GMT) with the following IP address: Houston NEW IP Address: 173.193.85.18 (Old address: Houston 209.62.1.2) A brand new server will also be added with the following hostname: New Houston server: houston2.voip.ms London: The IP address for the host london.voip.ms will be replaced November 23 after 1:00 AM EST (06:00 GMT) with the following IP address: London NEW IP Address: 159.8.157.212 (Old address: London 5.77.36.136) Tampa: The IP address for the host tampa.voip.ms will be replaced November 30 after 1:00 AM EST (06:00 GMT) with the following IP address: Tampa NEW IP Address: 162.254.144.173 (Old address: Tampa 68.233.226.97) A brand new server will also be added with the following hostname: New Tampa server: tampa2.voip.ms Toronto: The IP address for the hosts toronto.voip.ms, toronto2.voip.ms, toronto3.voip.ms and toronto4.voip.ms will be replaced December 7th after 1:00 AM EST (06:00 GMT) with the following IP addresses: Toronto 1 NEW IP Address: 158.85.70.148 Toronto 2 NEW IP Address: 158.85.70.149 Toronto 3 NEW IP Address: 158.85.70.150 Toronto 4 NEW IP Address: 158.85.70.151 (Old addresses: Toronto 1 184.75.215.106, Toronto 2 184.75.215.114, Toronto 3 184.75.215.146, Toronto 4 184.75.213.210) =========================== What you may need to modify =========================== If you are using the hostname of any of these servers (e.g. dallas.voip.ms), there are no interventions required on your part. However, if you have concerns regarding the transition and you want to make sure that there are no issues when the DNS is updated with the new IP address, please reboot your router/device after the IP switch is done. If you are using a Softphone, like Zoiper or Xlite, a restart of the software may be required. If you are currently using the IP address of any of these servers to connect directly to them instead of the hostname (e.g. 74.54.54.178 instead of dallas.voip.ms), please update with the new IP as the IP switch is completed. The VoIP.ms issue tracker will be updated as soon as the IP switch is finished.
