We’re happy to announce that we’ve added 4 new server locations to our network. The new points of presence (aka POP) are located in the following cities: Atlanta, Chicago, Tampa and Seattle. Please note that the new locations are currently in “BETA” status. They will remain in beta state until Wednesday, June 30th. If you’re in a critical production environment, we do NOT recommend using one of the new locations until next week when the beta flag is lifted officially. If you’re willing to test the new servers and find any anomalies, please send us an email to support and we’ll correct it ASAP. We hope the new locations help our customers obtain better connectivity with our network by reducing potential latency, jitter and packet loss. Our new locations also offer extra redundancy in case of a specific data center going down. ——————————————- New Feature: Toll-Free Termination Carrier routing Additionally, we’ve added a new setting: Toll-Free Carrier. By default, when you dial a toll-free number using an American server, your call will be routed through an American Carrier, and when you dial a Toll-Free number via a Canadian server, your call is routed through a Canadian Carrier. You can override this setting for a carrier of your choice. For example, if you are based in Vancouver and wish to use an American server closer to your location, such as the new Seattle POP, you can choose to have your toll-free calls routed through a Canadian Carrier. The setting is available via the menu option “Main menu –> Settings” in the customer portal.
