Adding on our latest features about security, all the team at VoIP.ms is excited to announce the release of our latest features: IP Address Restriction and POP Restriction. These new settings are specifically aimed at protecting all your SIP/IAX accounts and preventing any kind of unauthorized outbound calls by effectively limiting the source of the traffic only to the values you specify, and therefore, rejecting any other source. IP Address Restriction: This feature is located under “Main Menu”, “Account Settings” then under “Security” tab. When enabled, outgoing calls will be authorized only from the IP address or IP range specified. In other words, this means that when you set an IP restriction to your home IP address, you are effectively telling the server to accept calls from your home and nowhere else. POP restriction: This feature is also located under “Main Menu”, “Account Settings” then under “Security” tab. When enabled, outgoing calls will be authorized only from the Points of Presence (POPs) selected. This feature works in a similar fashion than IP restriction, but provides more flexibility since the restriction will apply to the server you choose, instead of a specific IP address or a range. Please note that for both features, you may also easily replicate the restriction to all your sub accounts at once or do it individually by heading over to the sub accounts menu.
